Roger Carter "Rod" Rae lost his battle with muscular dystrophy on Nov. 1, 2006. Rod was born in Butte on May 29, 1932, to John David and Evelyn (Carter) Rae. He received his education and graduated from high school in Butte. Rod and Elsie Gray married in Butte, July 12, 1953.

Rod is survived by his beautiful loving wife of 53 years, Elsie; two daughters, Carrie Rae Parr (John) of Missoula, Debbie Mountjoy (Jim); and one son, Dave Rae (Tana) of Kalispell; sister Janet Bertelsen and family of Bozeman; grandchildren, Rebecca Walbert of Missoula, Loni Blankenship of Denver, Brian Blankenship and Christie Blankenship of Bozeman.

Special thanks to Rod's caregivers, Travis, Jamie and James. Rod fought a courageous battle with muscular dystrophy. His courage, zest for life and humor was an inspiration for all those who knew and loved him.

Rod worked as a talented printing pressman in Butte and Helena and retired from Montana Taxpayers Association in 1996.

Rod had a passion for baseball, coached little league and was a dire fan of the Yankees and the Griz.

The celebration of Rod's life will be Saturday, Nov. 4, at 11 a.m. at Plymouth Congregational Church, 400 S. Oakes St., Helena.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Inc. 2070 Overland Ave. No. 101, Billings, MT 59102.

We love you and will miss you dad, "Roger's out."
