    Erected by William Waugh in Memory of his wife Elexies Millar. Also buried here are Caroline Margaret Jane Waugh buried Oct 15, 1891, aged 3 months, and William Waugh buried Aug 7, 1899, aged 11 months. Both are children of William's son George

    • William Waugh was a ploughman in his early adulthood. When he moved from Dumfriesshire to Lanarkshire, he worked in the coal mines near Crosshill (present day Allanton -by-Shotts).

      Born in Laverockhalls, Kirkpatrick Fleming. In 1901 census, gives his birthplace as Aunaldale (Annandale?), Dumfriesshire.

      Witnesses to their marriage: Andrew Waugh and Margaret Gibson.
      Married by Andrew Scott, minister in Bonkle, Cambusnethan. United Presbyterian Church. At the time of their marriage, Williams was a ploughman living at Kirkhall, Cambusnethan. Alison was a farm servant living at Crofthead, Stonehouse.

      Death: Informant David Waugh, senile decay, occupation listed as retired enginekeeper, residence Kirkwa--, Bathgate. widower of Alexa Lindsay.

      1901 census: living with daughter Isabella Barclay Waugh MacDonald and her husband, James, and children in Linlithgow.
      1911 census: unable to locate. Not living with daughter, Isabella. He lived in Canada for two years, returning to Scotland in June 1911. He is not in the Canadian census which was taken starting June 1, 1911.
      Buried (monument) located in the Cambusnethan Cemetery with wife and daughter, Janet.
